GF Storm Surge

Bloody hell, where are you people coming from? (looks) Well, that's interesting. NODWICK?! HA! My gamer brethren are arriving! Welcome.

For the e-mailers who are confused, one last summary post, then you're on your own if you arrive after that.

I would be remiss (scratch that, have been remiss) not to point out you can get the original GLOBAL FREQUENCY graphic novel at Amazon.

It's a "Global" Frequency now

I believe the second Global Frequency graphic novel is also available now, too.

Yeaaaaaaaaa.... the momentum builds!

keep up the word of mouth,

try linking to the torrent in your email signature, or creating an html email with the torrent and fields to pass the email along like a chain letter.

hopefully, we can generate enough buzz to get the story picked up by a major news outlet. Then it'll really take off.

Oh yeah, once we hear back after the 4th, if we hear anything at all...

And once we have a community page set up for generating interest in the tv show...

We can submit the story to slashdot.

That's something I've been noticing, incidentally. Everybody who I show the pilot to says "damn, that's the coolest ringtone ever." John, I know it was just supposed to be a temp sound until you got the "real" one, but I think you lucked out with the practice shot here.

And then they fight. Each other, and the Halle Berry robots.

Just saw the pilot.

It had some rough edges, but for a pilot is was very very good.

I just loved the concept of ordinary people making a difference. The big conference call gave be goose bumps.

And of course getting some fresh new science into our scifi.

Hopefully we get to see more.

From Finland,
Oliver

As it happens, I saw the GF pilot Friday night and, as a freelance critic of some twenty-eight years, have to say that it's one of the best pilots I've ever seen.

Somehow, it manages to introduce regular lead characters without perceptibly altering the premise from the comics. Wonderful stuff.

And by the time Aleph closes out the pilot with the signature line, and we see hundreds of screens with various GF members, I had goosebumps - literally chills running down my spine.

I know that hope for a series sale is down to two kinds - slim & none, but I'm willing to grasp at straws if there's even the slightest chance that a series based on this exquisitely intelligent and thought provoking pilot might yet happen.

Global frequency pilot was awful, but at least you got people to watch it.

You should be ashamed of yourself for not encouraging people to share what you have created.

I'm really sure Warner and DC want him to encourage others to view something they invested millions in for free... especially if there may be a time later when the show will be aired or available on DVD. Good luck up there on that moral and social high ground, you out-of-the-loop motherfucker.

So maybe someone I know got the GF pilot off bittorrent last night, and I saw it.

HOT DIGGIDY DAMN that is some refreshingly good "tv"!!! Right up my alley, and really, really well done. Dark and funny, just like Ellis.

I say we get this show produced -- what the hell needs to be done, who do I have all my friends email, etc. What the shit, how can this be rejected, it blows to hell any tv show on right now IMO. WTF, of course dubya effin' bee wouldn't grab this show, there is a LAW that states they HAVE to SUCK ARSE.

Just did the illegal thing and downloaded/watched the show. I can't understand why they don't at least release it to get feedback and understand audience perceptions.

It gets a lot of comparisons to the X-Files. But I believe it is quite different. The X-Files had to leave everything somewhat obscured with no solid paths or resolutions to most things. The big ugly reared its head, we get to see a bit the ugly and it disappears again, often participation of the protagonists was only by observation.

In GF, we find the big ugly, see a lot of the why and wherefore and then kick it in the balls, kill it and skin it. The rather than keep the mystery it is brought kicking and screaming into the light where for the safety of all we rip its head off. Much more satisfying resolution.

Sure it is done at a level where there are no global consequences to the exposure of the corpse but there is a definite resolution and sense of accomplishment.

So - A friend handed me this disc and said "watch it".

I watched it tonight. This was/ is fantastic TV. I only hope that someone out there with money picks this show up. If there is anything that we (as a fan base) can do - let us know.

PS - i'm picking up the graphic novels tommorrow.

Page 3 Coverage in the UK!!!

No not THAT sort of Page 3....

Seriously today's Metro Newspaper in Scotland - and if anyone lives outside of scotland please confirm you got in Metro London etc...

3/4 of a Page article about GF!

Mainly photo's (promos) looks like they took them of the Frequencysite.com

Headline is "The most popular tv show never screened".

Talks about the show and how it's getting rave reviews. Warners declined comment on the future of the show but did remind everyone it's infringing copyright to download it - which it is so everyone should stop doing so.

I'll be typing up the article text to put on my blog later today.

Article was by one Sarah Hills - if anyone knows her say thanks.

Also I'll now be able to follow up as in the Letters Page of The Metro. (I originally wrote to them as agent 483 and got something published saying "get on the global frequency" seems they did!)

*For the Record the Metro is Scotland's most ready daily newspaper. It's given away free on public transport and by hand in most major cities/towns.

Just saw the GF pilot, and damn "imagine the X-Files has world-class sex with Alias, and produces a mutant offspring with a taste for crank that lives 20 minutes in the future." is an understatment!

Hope this show gets picked up again and put on TV, more specificaly, Australian TV!

A couple of days ago, I bought both of the Global Frequency graphic novels from Amazon.com after reading the first issue and watching the Global Frequency pilot, both of which were in the torrent. In my opinion, the pilot is excellent, and maybe the SciFi channel would be interested in picking it up for a series run.

Word is still spreading guys, I found out about this show very recenty. Wow, what is wrong with WB? Why would a show with a pilot like this not be picked up? Top-notch, TV doesn't get any better than this. Damn shame.

A friend handed me Global Frequency a while ago and I watched it today... I owe someone a bottle of whatever they like. This was perhaps the best SciFi pilot I have ever seen. I can't wait until this appears on its rightful home - the SciFi Channel.
Here is someone who would like the shake John Rogers' hand. Bravo!

Wow.

Entertaining. Inspiring. Captivating.

We need 26 episodes of Global Frequency guaranteed every year with no weekly interruptions.

The single strongest social value of this concept show is the planting of the seed in the viewing public that “you are needed, for being the best at what you do… no matter what that is”.

No one can say just what that igniting trigger is that inspires a person to commit to greatness. But a show like Global Frequency just may have the magic, the mojo and the message to inspire a few people to greatness.

WOW!!! Blown away!!!

Never heard of GF prior to yesterday when browsing Kryptonsite and thought it sounded worth a look.. if only there was a way to see it.....

Come home this evening and would you believe the digital pixies have been altering my hard-drive into a most unbelievable pilot. You achieved in one show far more than I've seen previously in terms of scene setting without sacrificing actual content as so often happens when building an show initially. I absolutely loved it and shall be visiting Amazon next to show my appreciation of what you have given us.

The strength of your show is incredible that those pixies could pull it down in less than a day.

The premise as Larry Mitchell pointed is one to send that delicious shiver down your spine. Ordinary people making a difference. That "Dare to be great" situation.

I loved it and will be introducing it to my friends. I'll be hoping for a bigger comeback than Firefly ;-)

I just watched the GF pilot. I ran a google web search as soon as I finished to find out when the show would be coming to Australian television. I was shocked to see that it never picked up!! I am going to spread the word all over Australia to see that this show is aired.

I love this show!!. I've heard about it by word of mouth, and it's true :).

Does anyone have any contact with a small UK based company called lacegroup?. They're quite up for releasing unusual things on DVD (it's normally UK based stuff, but I guess if enough people asked)

Just saw the show and although some parts were predictable... overall I would love to see some more.

One question: How is it that this show never made it to air when other pieces of crap do?

TWO WORDS: BLIND JUSTICE

I think the networks need some new focus groups.

Hello,
I have seen the Global Frequency pilot! I have to say that I love it and want to see more! I hope success comes to this must see series.

I loved the pilot of this show. Have you heard about the cancelled show "Nobody's Watching," where over 500,000 Youtube hits made it viable in the eyes of the networks? They're currently shopping that one around now. Maybe that could be done for GF, too!!!

John? Any chance of you making another post on what you planned to do in the series, now that it's dead?
