The Ministry

Warren's got a column going, and I found this week's rather interesting. Go let him infect your brain.

I always laugh at Ellis calling New Orleans the grim meathook future. I do have to say the city is now more like I remember it when grwing up; it again has that whole Third World Nation/Banana Republic feel to the people and the politics.

Casey, I'm glad you're home ... but we do realize that third world/banana republic is a bad thing, right?

Although banana republic governments alway shave such spiffy uniforms.

Yup. Good rant from Ellis, only problem is that I had just read it when I came here to find more intresting stuff to read.

Sure it is a bad thing. But at the same time, for someone watching the way the city was becoming like every other city in America, I am hoping out of this comes a better New Orleans (of course, having dealt with some of these people all my life, I know things will just become crap again).

Trust me John, if you were down here watching the mayor's race in the city proper and the other political races in the burbs, you would see that I am under no illusions how bad things are and might just become.

Maybe if someone would hurry up and get the compound in Canada up and running my child might have a sane place to grow up.
