This vid is my favorite take on Twilight (my second is the "Buffy vs. Edward" remix).
Over at the Riot Nrrd webcomic (which I highly recommend, for what that's worth), one of the characters spends time putting contact info for domestic violence shelters in all the copies of the series.
There's a t-shirt for sale over there, too: "Team Bella: get out now, girl."
Thanks for sharing. So utterly awesome. Mostly because for some odd reason I had to read Twilight for an upper division English Lit class (to illustrate the main differences between pure romance and chick lit) and my eye started twitching because of it.
When the Twilight series first came out, a friend gave me the book, insisting that I read it. I would LOVE it, she said. So romantic, she said.
I read it. And as someone who watched Buffy kick ass for seven seasons, I became more and more horrified by Bella with every turn of the page. This video is awesome.
Twilight is so easy to make fun of. :) Did you catch Supernatural last week, on the CW? Their episode featured hunky vampires hooking up with fan-girls and then feasting on them. It was hilarious!
I love Horror. I hate that one of the best memes of traditional and 20th century horror was hi-jacked into these pathetic sex and relationship soap opera lady boys. enough...NO..too much already. salems lot is 1000 times a better vampire story than anything ann rice ever wrote. end the cheeziness.

I was taught that you don't truly deserve to mock something unless you have been fully exposed to it and know its foibles.
Therefore, I read all of the Twilight series.
It was not easy. It was painful. I would NEVER do it again.
It did, however, give me a wealth of ammunition to use that I would not have otherwise had if I had decided not to read it.
