Nelson, I appreciate you watching the place while I've been gone, but what's all this bleach and duct tape doing in the bathroom?
Yeah, I'm back, and cleaning out the joint. While I finish the script for Dungeons & Dragons #0 (we have things to talk about...), you can take a look, if you wish, at something I found in my files: the script for Blue Beetle #25.

A D&D comic? I hope you're able to create the characters instead of them handing you a group of 'iconics'. Any guest appearances by Jan Kormick or others from the Halmae? =)
Congrats.
Have I ever mentioned that BB#25 is my favorite comic issue ever?
'Cause it totally is.
Wait, who are you again?
BTW, the script is very cool. I'll have to show it to hubby, whose respect for you skyrocketed when I told him you wrote the BB reboot.
This is from IDW? As discussed here?
Dammit, man, I'm trying to cut back! :
I guess the D&D comix are why you're not working on the Leverage RPG.
For a moment, I thought you were talking about a Dungeons and Dragons movie prequel!
Well. I insist this comic contain Gelatinous Cubes and Black Puddings. And maybe a thoat.

P.S. Hey, have you seen Lore Sjoberg's hilarious Monster Manual comics? Recently renamed to avoid confusions.
Hey, "Leverage" shoutout in an interview with Adam Baldwin here:

And Mark Sheppard and Saul Rubinek will be among about 250 guests at DragonCon in Atlanta this year.
two thumbs up for you all guys.

I thought you were talking about a D&D TV series. So many questions! A continuation of the D&D cartoon? Live-action? Any specific setting?
Comic makes more sense, in retrospect.
I'd love to see a good Forgotten Realms comic with original stories (rather than those novel adaptations Devil's Due was putting out).
But only if they're set in the pre-4e Realms, before Wizards of the Coast ruined it with their "Spellplague" crap and 100-year jump. Unfortunately, that's not likely. :-(
...and why is the garbage disposal burned out?
What happened to that large box of trash bags? And the cinderblocks? Why to my large kitchen knives have huge nicks in their edges?
I also like the dragons and dungeon, such a cool one.
Crazification factor strikes again:
http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/05/politics-of-oil-spills.html
The crazification factor is exactly 28%. One of the stablest numbers in American life, a patriotic constant.
i'm sorry, someone put 'original' with 'Forgotten Realms'.
I'd kill for some Eberron Noir. That'd be kinda original. I think there was a greyhawk murder mystery once along those lines.
but Forgotten Realms hasn't been orignial since the 3rd reboot of the setting. It may have been fresh and new, once upon a time. That time was before I learned to read.
Besides, if you set it in the 'classic' realms then you'd have the problem that once Elmminster was done taking Ed Wood to strip clubs he'd notice the problem and Plot it away in the nick of time just before the massivly outmatched heroes were about to go down.
sorry about the OT, but as long as it's not realms I'll totally spend money on John Rogers DnD stuff.

but Forgotten Realms hasn't been orignial since the 3rd reboot of the setting.
There was no 3E reboot of the setting. Just a relaunch with the new rules. The 4E changeover is where they blew everything up and washed away pretty much everything the old-school fans (e.g., me) liked about the setting.
4E is a video game on paper, which is fine if you like that sort of thing. Possibly a good business move for WotC, possibly not. I'm not sure how 4E sales are stacking up against 3.5.
I'm a Realms fan from way back... I even created a complete bibliography of it up to the end of 3E/3.5 (http://www.aeolia.net/realms/). I miss it, but I've since switched over to Paizo's Pathfinder setting, and I haven't much looked back.
A well-written fantasy comic is always welcome, though.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the Realms at all. The 4e realms to me destroyed most of what I hated about them - but left me wondering why anyone would bother playing there at all.

Given that 4e is the only edition of D&D that can not easily be made into a video game, I'm going to take that claim with a pinch of salt. What 4e is is an action movie fantasy RPG rather than D&D.
Possibly a good business move for WotC, possibly not. I'm not sure how 4E sales are stacking up against 3.5.
Better I think. But it doesn't matter. Because 3.5 was mined out by that point. (And 3.5's step forward over 3.0 was being playtested rather than just theoretically smooth - which was better than 2e...) So they needed to do something else. Whether re-writing as an action movie RPG and looking at what computer games did right and borrowing from there was the best decision is open to question. But not to radically change (i.e. not to play) would certainly have been a losing move.
There was no 3E reboot of the setting.
I said third change...
originally orcs came from another dimension...then the worlds were linked for spelljammer/planescape..then ferun became unlinked to everything then there was at least one more disaster after that (i stopped following by then) THEN the spellpurge happened.
You need to be explicit if you're going to talk about FE versions because there's a world of difference between GOldbox era (pool of radiance, curse of the azure bonds, etc.) and the baldar's gate era, and there's more eras than that.
As for 4e being a 'computer game' on the table top...nope.
It's a differnt game than 3.x and returns to the Minatures roots of D&D but not the wargamming roots finnaly ditching the half-ass implementation of Simulation that started...well...from the beggining because of the Wargamming roots.
I played a metric fuckton of 3.x (RPGA Living Greyhawk and both Eberron campeigns, Home Games, custom games etc.)but it was always clunky and inconsistant, never figuring out what it wanted to be.
4e has resolved the identity crisis and retunred something playable with electronic tools the level of which were promised for 3.x. I find it fun, hardly have to look at books and in general much more Fun.

@ John Emerson: Mussorgsky, isn't it? The fact that even recognize him is deeply unsettling...
Just saw the Sneak Preview for Leverage season 3 (on TNT, of course). I am now VIBRATING WITH IMPATIENCE! The only mollification available is that my Season 2 DVDs should be arriving next week so I can happily roll around in commentary love!
*sigh*
This is a seriously severe addiction, ya know. I'm doing my best to bring others into the fold.
I have to say that Blue Beetle from 1 to 25 is what I give to people who say "where are the real heroes in comics nowadays?". The moment where Jaime reaches out to someone he should despise to get them to come with him instead of die? That's a true hero. That's what they should be.
There are so many great moments (Guy Gardner not being a complete jerk, the way he's often written? The entire alien plot?) all nicely done.
And then you did Leverage. I admit, the first episode's plot, when I read it, turned me off. I worked at the time for a really huge company and the idea of the company getting blown away for Victor's screwups. Then I watched it and went "oh, I see now." And I got hooked. :)
nice your blog and very nice dear your blog Ranking is too Good we like its you can see our also website for online shopping......
