Black Lightning Trailer

This is absolutely mad, and I'd like to know why I'm not already watching it. (h/t Warren)

Whoa! I've just pinged a Russian friend for help with the translation, but, really, I just don't think I need to know what they're saying.

You can tell a good movie by not needing sound or understand the language that is spoken.

This looks really good, and I wonder too why I am not already watching it.

Btw Love your show and wish I could work on set with you.

All the guys here are "Want!". I'm guessing that it is taking us back to our childhood when dinky cars flew everywhere and we used them to be superheroes.

I didn't need any translation to tell what was going on.

Holy bleeping bleep.

I mean, sure, 100% absurd premise... but it looks SO GOOD.

I'm confused -- where's Lindsay Lohan?

Wow, that looks wonderfully slick.

If you showed that to someone 21 years ago and could convince them that the Cyrillic titles weren't added later, his head would explode.

Damn. I want. To. See. Now.

You know, the borderline socialist in me is sad that the Russian Film Industry is starting to emulate massive Hollywood film making.
However, the eight year old in me is yelling "ME WANT NOW!!".
Sigh, I have a complicated inner life

Wait, does Tony Isabella get creators credits for this?

Oh man, I want to see that NOW! Just for the stand off in Red Square!

This film needs to have English subtitles. Though, even if it doesn't, I will want to see it anyway! It looks awesome.

Speaking of awesome, I inadvertantly got sucked into (re)watching "The 12-Step Job" tonight. Man, that episodes really holds up to repeat viewings.

But, I have two questions, if you'd be so kind: (1) where did you get those awesome lights in the rehab center (the ones that look like gigantic zucchini blossoms) and (2) everyone keeps saying that Christian Kane's eyes are blue, but they look gray to me. Since you've worked with him and stared at his image during filming/editing, please tell me what color they really are. kthxbye

This reminded me of Iron Man, but with flying cars instead of the Iron Man suit.

The missile gap has been replaced by the awesome movie gap. We are falling behind! The Russians are coming!

Slick.

But... isn't it sort of... bad when you can predict almost every single thing a trailer is going to contain, in order? Right down to the coed love interest? The cliched shot where a wino or winos see the superhero shoot by in the sky above them and look down in ever-comical confusion at their hooch? The Bad Guy showing up with his own even-more-badass version of the armor or helicopter or car or whatever?

My borderline socialist is not confused. It's depressing that the Craptastic Hollywood Action Movie is starting to replicate itself elsewhere. Say what you like about the Craptastic French Action Movie or the Craptastic Hong Kong Action Movie, at least they have some sort of distinctive flavor going on.

In Mother Russia, Herbie bugs Yoouuu!

Catchka: Toreface. I would say that is an accurate representation of what that trailer just did.

"Black Lightning" or "Chernaya molniya" has been released in Russia. I do not bit torrent but it seems to already have been pirated and placed on the WWW. The Russian Universal site has a fun promo in which you get to start the car, and fly it to scenes around Moscow. You may have to be an old timer to figure it out, though, since it has a column shift. ;-) http://31-12-2009.ru/
