Four Colleges in Five Years

Commenter Jon H for the win on Palin:

"She's going to transfer to the governor's office of a couple other states, and eventually rack up enough credits to complete the term."

Actually, she probably thinks if she serves out her full term, she won't be able to run for President in 2010.

I say the 14 year old is pregnant.

Rumours are circulating that there's a federal investigation into the construction of her house and the stadium in Wasilla. Either embezzlement or bribes.

Just a couple observations, after watching the full video -

• There were a number of aquatic birds nearby, actively commenting on the proceedings with strange growling croaks and squawks. Reminded me of Rene Auberjonois in Altman's wonderful "Brewster McCloud".

• When the camera panned around at the end, it revealed that the entire dog-and-pony show took place in front of fewer than a dozen neighbors. The announcement was the act of someone hiding, not stepping out in public.

The whole thing reeked of panic and shame; this isn't about a Presidential bid. Something large, floopy and brown is about to hit the fan in a major way. I think Sean is on the right track, but it could be something even more appallingly creative and original.

One more thing -

When she said "the world needs more Trigs, not fewer", I nearly gagged. Yeah, more people need to be saddled with the terrible functional challenges this poor kid will face life with.

Of course, it's one way to breed more easily manipulated voters.

The reason perhaps?

Actually, I wish the reason was more Sanfordesque - a harem of man-boys hiding in Equador, perhaps.

Alaska already has an embezzler, another would be so boring. Less bank and more stank, I say.

I think, given the increasing ecological problems in Alaska and the impending enormous infrastructure repairs, Ms. Palin is plain old quitting while the quitting is good -- before the job becomes less the all-expenses-paid government-land fun-fair that it has been for her, and more like actual, y'know, Work.

"I'm a celebrity. Get me out of here." (from reader on Andrew Sullivan blog)

Brilliant in its brevity and attitude.

it is most likely a combination of all of it:
she is or has been under a number of investigations for abuse of power (her brother in law and the replacement for staet reprensentative thing) as well as money stuff.
Essentially I'd be surprised if she and her vice govener don't face offical charges.
