Andrew Cosby's excellent show Eureka -- about a town of super-geniuses and the federal marshall trying to keep order while unravelling an unpleasant murderous conspiracy -- has been picked up for 13 by Sci Fi. I've read the pilot and talked to Cosby about the season arc. You will dig it.
Andy is two for two pilots-to-air. He should be writing these little industry missives, not I. Congratulations to a fine writer. I don't know what I'm more pleased by: Cosby's success or the idea I'll have another good genre show to watch.

Thanks for the head's up. Setting the TiVo as soon as I hit send.
"...a cross between Northern Exposure and Twin Peaks..." A cross? Isn't that kind of like saying a cross between Friends and Seinfeld or a cross between Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie?
Anyway, two excellent shows to be compared to. But to be compared to Twin Peaks begs the question, does he know what to do with seasons two and beyond. ?
well, the Twin Peaks comparison is more for the tone of unsettling wierdness than the plot structure. the press release has the usual lame "compare it to something successful so nobody panics and thinks we're actually innovating or anything" bullshit. It is its own bear.
Just had a nice meeting with a Mr. Tony Optican and he had only REALLY nice things to say about EUREKA!
I just watched a rough cut of the pilot and really enjoyed it! I blogged a little bit about it in this post*, where you can link to the trailer. And as always, love your blog, thanks for updating it regularly!

Keep up the good work

It cannot succeed as a matter of fact, that's what I suppose.
