John: Seriously, screw them. This Confederacy, Southern Pride crap has had more than enough time to work itself out of their system. You know there's idiots trying to push that "slavery wasn't that bad"? It's been a hundred and forty years since the war, and they're still angry at Northerners and city folk, and holding on to this righteous indignation crap.
Tyrone: You're saying there's a cutoff point.
John: Ten years. Even in Japan and post-Nazi germany, within ten years people had moved on. The very next generation knew they had to let that shit go.
Tyrone: Yes, but John, that's because those people felt they'd done something wrong. In the South, you had a good three or four generations who were raised to feel that the government had come and taken away their daddy's rightful property --
