I think that the most entertaining origin would be if River is a repentant villain. Because at the episode where she flips, she'll be at the height of her power, and the Doctor's not going to see it coming.

2) Neil Gaiman should write more TV, particularly Doctor Who. Hey Mr. Rogers, think you can land him for Leverage? I know he isn't really known for doing anything that doesn't involve dark, crazy, supernatural things, but it would be awesome nonetheless.
3) Please tell me I am not the only one who thoroughly enjoyed the campy plot-hole filled pirate filler. Isn't that what Doctor Who's all about?
4) Having rewatched this trailer (and the BBC America one, thanks IMForeman!), I am super super excited that half of the stuff shown is still yet to come. As in, too excited to put into words.
