Remembrance Day

Spent the morning on Parliament Hill for the services. I have to admit, having lived in both countries there's something about the tone to Remembrance Day compared to Veteran's Day. ... same intent, slightly different execution. For example, the politicians generally shut the hell up, lay their wreaths, and leave the day to the veterans. Also the prevalence of poppies beforehand, on literally every human walking the streets ... seriously. From the elderly to street punks. We should have the poppies in the States. I know some people do it, but it's rare. As a symbol it's more ... human.

In any event, please take a moment today.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

And yeah, and the flyover got me crying. Missing man formation gets me every time.
