Good episode tonight. I love meeting and getting to know all these characters. And that house is awesome. I wonder if that's what Bill Gates' smarthome is like...
And I didn't know Greenwalt was a part of this show, too. I must've missed his name during the pilot's credits.
Last night's ep was pretty impressive in how they started the show with two dead characters and
(spoiler)
managed to narratively revive both characters (well, sorta) in completely different ways by the end of the episode. That was fantastic!

This episode was funnier than the pilot, and I think the humor is just going to keep getting better as the cast gels. I didn't notice Greenwalt's name in the pilot either, but I saw it in last night's ep. Did he come on board after the pilot, or did 1031 and I both just miss it?
I already know I'm going to like this show. Not only are the plots interesting and tight, but the acting is quite good. They also aren't forgetting plot points made in previous episodes. Without going into spoilers, given what happened in the pilot what happened in last night's episode logically follows.
I also love the the sherrif's department has a 'back from the dead' form.
At this point I beleive my wife is trying to drive me insane. This is the second time she has "inadvertantly" shut off my EUREKA! recording minutes into the program.

It's Diana Prince. I'll also mention it to any supervillains who want to know, for twenty bucks--ten, if they can throw in a mind-controlled Donna Troy. Rrrrowww!
It is darker than expected, which I'm finding interesting even as a guy who's seen a bunch of the cuts. It's kind f settling on creepy, an off speed I really dig.
I do think Sci Fi may have been a little harsh on the joke-cutting, but I'd rather see the show be good and grounded, and then blossom out to funnier. That said, there are still plenty of sublte little jokes to be had.
For one minute I didn't think the wife who died last week was a clone. I thought that the wife who turned up was from some alternate reality. So it was a nice surprise when the twist was sprung.
It was plainly obvious (if you've seen far too much SF) that the "ghost" was Rob LaBelle's character.
The smart house subplot made me smile and Joe Morton is fantastic in this show.
I'm bummed about the loss of Greg German's character, but at least the sheriff's daughter came back.
Hey, nice work, John! Alas, the girl playing the sheriff's dad had no more business playing Puck than my cats do (though I'll grant the possibility that she may have been directed to read the part like a bad high school actress), but I liked this episode, particularly the wife's decision at the end.
I'm still not sure what to make of the series as a whole - I'm not loving the "everything wraps up neatly at the end" design, but I am really enjoying trying to figure out who the Bad Gal is affiliated with and what her goal is.
Out of curiosity, how much autonomy does a writer get in a show like this? Are you told what story to write, what characters to introduce, etc.? Or are you able to introduce characters for others to play with?
