"Yes. My tire is flat. Why are you mad I sold the jack?"

Post deleted.

I looked at this, and realize it was a straight political post, without a joke, and not a particularly inciteful one at that. Eh. Although some blogs are a straight id dump, I'd like to keep slightly higher standards here.

Couldn't have said it better myself. That's what's so stupifying about this administration, is that they'll say one thing, then another thing, and their conclusion is way, way, WAY off target, like your example of the pointless missle defense shield.

Another example would be all the "Mission Accomplished" rhetoric, and how they backtracked from that as more and more American men and women came home in body bags.

And how the cause for this invasion began at WMD and ended with...what's the official reason now? Are we still going with the liberating the Iraqi people and spreading democracy throughout the land? Cause all I see are more dead soldiers and innocent Iraqi civilians.

The conservatives, Republicans, war-hawks, whatever you want to call them, they just don't seem to understand rational thought and logical progression. As you said, two plus two does not equal four to them, and yet people, the American public, just don't seem to care. Half of them, anyway.

And I just don't understand why. It's like smacking your head against a brick wall and expecting it to feel better each time.

I suspect that people dare not ask these simple logical progression questions as they instinctively know that the truth of our inept leaders' thinking would be a hell of a lot more scary than the political/security embellishments that are spread.

This kind of comfort-in-ignorance is also a reflection of weak political opposition.

Try opening your eyes, maybe. There's a leeeeetle more to it than that, assuming you're an honest, truth-seeking person.
