Yeah, I've already let them know the embed's hacked -- although that XMP plugin is pretty standard for watching WMV flash movies on websites on non-explorer browsers. It's proprietary bullshit, but it's the nature of the beast.

ReplyDeleteIf it hadn't been a site like TNT that most likely is not filling my hard drive with viruses, keyloggers and various sorts of crazy stuff that send my credit card numbers to Maltese gangsters, I would never have loaded that plugin. Hopefully now there isn't some trojan using my computer to hack into the Defense Department to play Global Thermonuclear War with their artificial intelligence.

ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with the Firefox plug in, but we keep Explorer around just for the very rare occasions when shit like this happens. And indeed, IE showed it, no problem. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteOddly, the opening sequence gave me a great big nostalgic whiff of the vintage Mod Squad origin, where the big truck comes out of nowhere and the three kids all avoid harm with different evasive maneuvers. And when I think about it, I don't know what it was that reminded me of that, but there was something there that triggered the memory. Weird.
Still. Looking forward. Assuming civilization lasts through December, it looks like a fun view. Maybe even worth picking up the DVD set eventually.

I saw the pre-air of the show yesterday and thought it was great. My only (minor) complaint is the music. Seems like it's trying to hard to sound like other shows/films in the heist-genre -- something you don't need to do anymore in my opinion. The show's writing is good enough that it doesn't need to rely on music...
