The Year in Scary Tech

Defense Tech is running a wrap-up of all their stories on cutting edge ... well, defense tech. From E-bombs to Lasers to drone dogs, it's a cornucopia for a modern-day thriller writer, or anyone who just wants to stay hip to how the Revolution will be brutally put down in the year 2015.

Lasers, exo-skeletons to carry heavy objects, backpack carried robotic probes and even remote control rats... Tom Clancy is going to have material for years.

But... where are the flying cars? We were PROMISED flying cars. Heck, I'm getting to the point where I'd settle for the I, Robot cars with the giant round wheels on them. Or even that personal hovercraft thing that, thus far, has made it two feets off the ground. I mean, we need something, especially if traffic on the 405 refuses to improve.

The 405 is never going to let up, nor is the 101 or the 5. Not until we, you know, "take care" of some people. Maybe those Defense Tech lasers would help...

Didn't I read somewhere that cars actually outnumber people in CA? I thought that was odd, and a bit unnecessary.

Flying cars?!? Are you kidding? Do you even go outside? These yin-yangs haven’t mastered Ford Probe technology, and you want to give them flying cars?!? I love futuristic do-dads as much as the next guy, but not if it means having to deal with some drunk a-hole's Hover-Hummer crash landing in my living room.
